Annalakshmi is a “not-for-profit” restaurant established in 1984. His Holiness Swami Shantanand Saraswathi (Swamiji , as we affectionately call Him), a Hindu monk from India, created Annalakshmi as a restaurant that would bring together the culinary skills of mothers and grandmothers in the group who have been feeding their loved ones with care and dedication. And drawing from the heritage of this very special skill of creating delightful nourishment out of the freshest ingredients, Swamiji empowered these housewives to serve the larger family of the community through their homely skills honed by tradition and constant practice.
